NEW Sweet Pea Snuggle Pod

With the weather getting cooler, I found that Oliver could use a "pod" to keep his little toes warm while he's playing on the floor, nursing, or snuggling.  He's getting bigger now, kicking and wiggling a lot, making it hard to keep a blanket around him.  So, the Snuggle Pod was born.  It has really soft flannel on the outside and even softer minky on the inside.  I'm hoping to get one up in the shop, but if you'd like to snatch one up just email at nimburu@gmail.com.  I have enough of this sweet flannel to make two more, so if you'd really like one, let me know before they are gone.  $36

Wordsmiths on the Tree Sling

My newest creation is the Tree Sling, made of chambray and high quality cotton.  I "sketched" the tree onto the sling with my trusty old singer, Lucy.  Each sling is one of a kind, reversible, and has a pocket.  What words would you use to describe this sling?  Please leave your comments!  Thanks for your help.

Tree Sling

Just in time for the holidays, our tree sling is available.  Shown here is Marques with our prototype.  The sling features denim on the exterior and cotton on the interior.  As usual, the sling is reversible and has a pocket.  The beautiful tree does show on both sides.  The denim makes this design fantastic for hiking with Daddy, gardening with Momma, or days at the beach.  Consider this a great gift as we get into the holiday season for anyone with a baby on the way, toddler, newborn, grandbaby, or even a pampered pet.  The sling is not yet posted in the Etsy shop, so just drop us an email at nimburu@gmail.com to order.  $52

Chocolate Sling Sale

We just got in our new fabric for the Chocolate Slings.  Raspberry and chocolate or teal and chocolate are available.  The prints are japanese garden inspired.  These pouch slings will be reversible with pockets and our signature stitch detailing.  See the 'Ru Meadow sling below for detailed photos of the design.  $36.

The Idea

One day my sister Corissa was telling me that she really wanted a sling for her 5 week old baby Oliver, but was frustrated that they were so expensive. I said, "Why don't you just try making one? It can't be that hard." And that's how Nimbu'Ru was born! That night I found a long message from Corissa in my Facebook inbox with all kinds of ideas for our new venture. She suggested the name. "Nimbu" is what her son Rivers calls me because his two-year-old lips can't quite form the name "Amber" yet. "'Ru" is short for Kangaroo and symbolizes the time Rivers spent with his Mommy and Daddy during "Kangaroo Care" in the Children's Hospital as a premie. The goal of Nimbu'Ru is to create a product that is affordable and accessible to mothers (and fathers) in search of some "hands free" assistance. Stay posted for further developments!
